Concomitant Variable

A variable that is observed in a statistical experiment, but is not specifically measured or utilized in the analysis of the data. It is sometimes necessary to correct for concomitant variables in order to prevent distortion of the results of experiments or research. Also called an incidental, secondary, or subordinate variable.
